Protecting Your Child from Enterovirus D-68 Enterovirus D68 (EV-D68) is a respiratory illness in children which has spread rapidly across the country. A case of EV-D68 recently was confirmed in Morris County. Not all respiratory viruses occurring at this time are caused by EV-D68. The early symptoms of this virus are similar to those of other respiratory illnesses, including the common cold. As is the case with most viruses, there are some simple steps that schools and families can take to help to prevent the spread of this illness and protect the health of all our children.
